About us
The Lisbonaire are stylish contemporary apartments, in a rebuilt 1960s building, located in the heart of downtown Lisbon, near the historic neighborhoods and the best shops, restaurants and bars.
We invited prominent Portuguese designers and artists to create a lively and inspirational atmosphere, where you can rest and relax.
Each apartment is unique and special, with original artwork, fully equipped kitchens, decorated and furnished with the best Portuguese furniture, linen, cutlery and equipment, as well as digital must haves such as free high speed internet, google home assistants, Spotify or usb outlets nexto to every bed.
Our guests are welcome to use the rooftop terrace, gym, lounge room with library, pool table and kid zone.
It's an economical, spacious and practical solution whether you are visiting or working in Lisbon and we hope to welcome and inspire you to discover the traditional and contemporary Lisbon.

We want your kids to have a great time. Our kidzone has cardboard ping pong and fussball, snooker, books and games and salvaged carnival rides.
The Gym
If climbing Lisbon's 7 hills is not enough exercise, our small fitness room is equipped with weights, strength machine, TRX, elliptical and stationary bicycle.

Take a moment to appreciate the artwork by prominent portuguese contemporary artists, such as Cabrita Reis, José Pedro Croft and Rui Chafes.
Top Designers and artists created our vibrant atmosphere
100% Portuguese
The Lisbonaire is a living showcase of portuguese design and arts. Under the creative direction of ExperimentaDesign, and inspired by the typhography of the stores and buildings of downtown Lisbon, spanning more than three centuries, each of the 19 apartments invokes a specific instant or place that provoked the designers, who created unique pieces that decorate the apartments and public spaces. The furniture was designed by Studio Pedrita and manufactured in Portugal. Equipment, linen, cutlery, are all made in Portugal, by some of the leading and most traditional portuguese companies. Artwork by prominent artists such as João Pedro Croft, Pedro Cabrita Reis or Rui Chafes can be enjoyed throughout the building. We want to inspire our guests to discover the best of Portugal.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
Guta Moura Guedes and ExperimentaDesign, took on the creative direction of The Lisbonaire Apartments.
DESIGN CONCEPT & FURNITURE
Pedrita studio, created the concept and furniture, inspired by the "patchwork" of Lisbon.
JUNIOR STUDIO A
ALVA created typography inspired stickers that invade the apartment, from floor to ceiling.
DUPLEX APARTMENT B
Ana Cunha was inspired by the crow that, legend has it, protected the city's patron saint.
DUPLEX APARTMENT C
Barbara!Says created a poster for a fictional concert at Ritz Clube, across the street from the Lisbonaire.
ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT D
Joana and Mariana play with the words that are most commonly found on tourist souvenirs and handicrafts.
ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT E
João Maio Pinto plays with the brand and packaging of a vintage metal polish, named "Coração" (Heart).
ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT F
João Vinagre was inspired by the patterns of tiles and cobblestone streets in Lisbon.
STUDIO G
Gwendolyn Van der Velden and Quim Albergaria made a visual map of their own chance meeting an love story.
STUDIO H
Nuno Luz hand printed colorful lithographs with a playful composition of door numbers.

MAGA celebrate books and used bookstores ("alfarrabistas") that used to be a staple of Baixa and Chiado.

MUSA Worklab evokes Lisbons' 7 hills and the lettuce green for which Lisboners are named ("alfacinhas").
STUDIO L
NADA painstakenly handpainted the logos and signage of traditional shops from Baixa and Chiado.
STUDIO M
Pedro Falcão plays with the XIX century store sign that can still be found near the Rossio train station.
STUDIO N
Ricardo Mealha celebrates print media and newspapers that used to be based in the downtown area of Lisbon.

Mackintóxico a.k.a. Tó Trips unrolls the destination blinds from the celebrated Lisbon trams.

Marco Balesteros founder of studio Letra, creates a visual map of some uncommon shops of downtown Lisbon.

Silva!Designers were inspired by the many traditional guesthouses and inns that could be found in the area.

Vanessa Teodoro brought in imagery found in Joalharia do Carmo, a XVIII century jewelry store in Rua do Carmo.

Vivóeusébio wrapped the walls in traditional wrapping paper from the cafes and pastry shops.
