Pedro Falcão (b. 1971) lives and works in Lisbon. From 1995 to 2005 he worked as graphic designer at Secretonix and in 2006 he founded the Atelier Pedro Falcão. He was the graphic director of the magazine Jornal Arquitectos (2006/09), winning a Merit Award in the category Magazine layout at Ed-Awards, 2007. Together with the architect Ricardo Bak-Gordon, Pedro designed the graphic layout for the exhibition in Pavilhão de Portugal in the first edition of the Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa (2007).
Pedro was part of the architecture team for MUDE, in Lisbon, together with architects Ricardo Carvalho and Joana Vilhena, and he has designed the graphic layout for the opening of the museum in 2009. He has specialized in Book Design and has worked with Rui Chafes, Rui Sanches, Jorge Molder, Luisa Cunha, Rui Toscano, José Pedro Croft, Carrilho da Graça, ARX Portugal, etc. Among his clients are Culturgest, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Centro Cultural de Belém, PhotoEspanha, Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, Ordem dos Arquitectos, Ellipse Foundation, Massimo Dutti, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves, Fundação Mário Soares. Since 2006 he has taught Editorial design in the course Multimedia and Graphic Design at Restart. He has won various awards, including Type Directors Club 46 (2000), AIGA, American Institute of Graphic Arts (2009), Premier Award, ISTD, Typographic Awards (2009).
